Who can become a member of OncANP?

The OncANP has four primary membership categories:

  • Associate/ND Member – This category is open to all licensed naturopathic doctors who have graduated from a CNME-accredited school.

  • FABNO Member – This category is for those NDs who have successfully passed their naturopathic oncology board exam.

  • Student Member – This category is open to all students currently attending a CNME-accredited naturopathic school.

  • Retired ND/FABNO Members – This category is open to all former Associate or FABNO members who are no longer in clinical practice or hold an active license.

  • Allied Member – This category is open to all licensed health care providers or biomedical researchers

  • Patient Advocate – This category is open to all members of the public who support the mission and vision of the OncANP and do not qualify for any other membership category

You DO NOT need to be specialized in oncology to be a member of the OncANP!  In fact, the majority of our members are general practicing healthcare providers who see some amount of cancer patients in their practice.

There is also a second aspect to our membership that commonly gets confused with becoming a regular member. We have created a process by which to become board certified in naturopathic oncology, termed FABNO (Fellow to the American Board of Naturopathic Oncology). This specialized portion of our membership is meant only for those members who focus a majority of their practice on oncology. In other words, those practitioners who have at least 65% of their practice made up of oncology patients. In order to qualify for this portion you must first be an OncANP member, and then fill out an application form, present case studies and pass an exam. This exam process happens every 18 months.
